My first mock draft was received with glowing reviews saying such things as
"worst mock pick of all time"
"You clearly don't know much about football or teams involved"
"Nick Foles top 10? Come on…"
"the picks here are ridiculous"
"Why would the Vikings waste their 2011 1st round pick on Griffin III?"
and my personal favorite
"Nick Foles top 10, Vikings picking RG3????????????? NEVER NEVER EVER DO A MOCK DRAFT EVER AGAIN!"
I get frustrated when a guy who's opinion I value waits until after the Combine to do his first complete first round mock. I will have mine up either before or at the conclusion of the regular season. Here is my top 12 for now. The parenthesis was the team picking at that slot in the last mock.
1. Colts (2-14) Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford...and Peyton Manning is traded or released to either the Cardinals, Seahawks, Dolphins, Jets, Chiefs or Browns (and Reggie Wayne might sign to reunite with him). Previous: same.
2. Rams (2-14) Justin Blackmon, WR, Oklahoma State. Previous: Griffin III (Vikings).
3. Vikings (3-13) Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor. Previous: Blackmon (Rams).
4. Browns (4-12) Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame. Previous: Floyd (Jaguars).
5. Buccaneers (4-12) Morris Claiborne, CB, LSU. The Buccaneers may still take DT Devon Stills. They will need defensive line help in draft and free agency. Previous: same (Panthers).
6. Redskins (6-10) Nick Foles, QB, Arizona. Previous: Matt Barkley, QB, USC.
7. Jaguars (5-11) Dre Kirkpatrick, CB, Alabama. They want to be ready for eventually not having Rashean Mathis. OLB and WR are possible here. If they trade down, they'll take Alshon Jeffrey, Marvin McNutt and Kendall Wright. They could still take Jeffrey here. Previous: Alshon Jeffrey, WR, South Carolina (Browns).
8. Dolphins (6-10) Quinton Coples, DE, North Carolina. Previous: Foles.
9. Panthers (6-10) Devon Still, DT, Penn State. Previous: same (Buccaneers).
10. Bills (6-10) Matt Kalil, T, USC. Previous: same (Chiefs).
11. Chiefs (7-9) Riley Reiff, T, Iowa. They took Ricky Stanzi last year and Scott Pioli was interested in head coach Kirk Ferentz. Previous: same (Eagles).
12. Seahawks (7-9) Alfonzo Dennard, CB, Nebraska. Previous: Jonathan Martin, T, Stanford (Bills).
Top 5 Still Available: North Alabama CB Janoris Jenkins, South Carolina WR Alshon Jeffrey, Stanford T Jonathan Martin, Clemson DT Brandon Thomspon, Georgia OG Cordy Glenn
